English Heritage to grant 'listed' status to hundreds more First World War memorials ahead of Centenary

The Telegraph has reported that English Heritage intends to grant 'listed' status to hundreds of First World War memorials ahead of the Centenary of the outbreak of the conflict.

The status will award the memorials new protections and is part of a wider campaign by English Heritage to grant listed status to 2,500 memorials over the next five years. Members of the public are invited to nominate their local monument.
